Noynoy Guilty of SCTEX issue?!

Alleged anomalies in the construction of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) that traverses the Cojuangco-owned Hacienda Luisita are much more controversial than the C5 issue hounding Senator Manuel Villar Jr., a congressman said Tuesday. At the resumption of the House Oversight committee hearing's inquiry into the issue, Cavite Rep. Jesus Crispin Remulla—a member of Villar's Nacionalista Party (NP)—said the national government paid P100 per square meter for the right of way of SCTEx to parts of the 600-hectare sugar plantation, when the actual value was only P8. "This is bigger," Remulla said when asked to compare the SCTEx to the C5 controversy hounding Villar. [See: Senate panel to Villar on C5: Return P622-billion fund to gov't]Remulla, brother of NP spokesman Gilbert Remulla, said the Cojuangcos should return the profit they gained from the sale of the land, which he said should have been donated to the government. The congressman linked Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer Senator Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino III to the controversy, saying Aquino is a "direct beneficiary" of the SCTex interchange being located within the plantation because it is owned by his family. Aquino, however, has long dismissed allegations linking him to the SCTEx controversy as politically-motivated, saying he had nothing to do with the SCTEx project as it was initiated during the Estrada administration.
